WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) has announced his membership in the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, a significant move aimed at supporting diabetes awareness and research efforts. The caucus, established in 1996, has become the largest caucus in Congress with over 300 members in the 118th Congress. Its primary objective is to educate Members of Congress and staff about diabetes while advocating for legislative actions to enhance diabetes research, education, and treatment.

In a recent meeting with constituents from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Congressman Kean discussed strategies to further bolster diabetes awareness and research initiatives. Reflecting on the pressing issue, Congressman Kean emphasized, "1.2 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year. It is crucial that Congress remains well-informed to support those with diabetes and to advance research in this field."

Expressing his commitment to the cause, Congressman Kean stated, "I am proud to join this bipartisan caucus and thank my colleagues, Representatives Diana DeGette (CO-01) and Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) for leading this caucus." This collaboration underscores the importance of bipartisan efforts in addressing critical health issues such as diabetes.
