New Jersey Assemblywoman Michele Matsikoudis has expressed her commitment to assisting small businesses by reducing regulatory burdens. She aims to build on the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline business licensing and promote local economic growth.
“Was back in Trenton yesterday for our Assembly Commerce, Economic Development, and Agriculture Committee meeting,” said Matsikoudis. “Proud to have served as a voice for supporting small businesses and cutting the red tape as a member of this committee!”
According to Matsikoudis, these comments align with legislative efforts in New Jersey designed to streamline business licensing and eliminate red tape that impedes local economic growth. The Assembly’s Commerce, Economic Development, and Agriculture Committee is a key player in these initiatives.
Small businesses constitute over 99% of all New Jersey businesses and employ approximately 1.9 million people across the state, as reported by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2024 profile.
Since 2023, New Jersey has introduced several regulatory reform proposals intended to expedite business permitting and reduce compliance costs. These measures aim to enhance the state’s ranking among the most business-friendly states in the nation.
Matsikoudis, a Republican Assemblywoman representing New Jersey’s 21st Legislative District, was elected in 2021. Her focus areas include economic development, small business support, and fiscal responsibility within state government.
