Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing online account verification and condemning a recent attack in Australia.
On December 12, 2025, Kean commented on Reddit’s new verification options for individual and business accounts. He stated, “This is a productive step by @Reddit following the letter Rep. Foster and I sent in October. Adding verification options for individual and business accounts will help users clearly understand who they’re engaging with — and which accounts may or may not be bots.”
Two days later, on December 14, 2025, Kean addressed an incident overseas: “The terrorist attack carried out at a Chanukah gathering in Australia is abhorrent and enraging. Hatred toward Jewish communities is surging worldwide, and it demands an unequivocal response wherever it appears. We mourn the lives lost and stand with the loved ones shattered by”

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Tom Malinowski in 2023. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 2001 to 2003 and served in the New Jersey Senate from 2008 to 2022. Kean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
