Yesterday, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) joined the Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce to co-host the Annual Veterans Resource Fair at Razberry’s Banquet Hall in Kingwood Township. The event, held for the second year, was free and open to veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and their families. It provided an opportunity for attendees to connect with service providers offering healthcare assistance, veterans benefit counseling, employment and housing support, and education information.
During the fair, Congressman Kean spoke with participants about his legislative efforts in Congress to support veterans. He highlighted his introduction of the Veterans Flight Training Responsibility Act (H.R.5634), which aims to give veterans quicker access to GI Bill benefits for flight training. He also referenced his support for the Veterans Appeals Efficiency Act (H.R.3835), the Saving Vet Halls Act (H.R.4663), and the Veterans’ Caregiver Appeals Modernization Act (H.R.3833).
“It was an honor to participate in Hunterdon County’s Annual Veterans Resource Fair and spend time with the incredible men and women who have served our country,” said Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. “Here in New Jersey, my constituent services team has closed hundreds of VA and military cases, returning more than $3 million to veterans across the state. If you or someone you know is appealing a VA disability determination, seeking survivor benefits, back pay for long-overdue pensions, or assistance with any other VA matter, please do not hesitate to contact my office. It is important we all stand with those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.”
Hunterdon County Commissioner Director John Lanza commented on the event’s significance: “Our veterans have earned our deepest respect and gratitude for their service to our nation. I am proud that Hunterdon County partnered with Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce to host our 2nd Annual Veterans Resource Fair—a meaningful event that was a resounding success in connecting veterans with the services and support they deserve.”
Christopher J. Phelan, President & CEO of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, added: “The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with Congressman Kean and the County of Hunterdon to support our veterans through this important Resource Fair. Our veterans have given so much in service to our nation, and it is our privilege to help connect them with the resources, opportunities, and community support they deserve. Events like this truly reflect the best of Hunterdon County—collaboration, gratitude, and commitment to those who have sacrificed for our freedom.”
Congressman Kean’s office reports having returned over $58 million to New Jersey constituents through casework services, including more than $3 million specifically to veterans. His office assists with issues such as navigating benefits, appealing VA disability determinations, and securing housing.
