WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07), in his capacity as the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, led a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Ukraine for meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other government officials. The delegation's visit included engagements with various Ukrainian officials and civil society, as well as a wreath-laying ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine, honoring those who have died fighting Russian aggression.
"We, on a bipartisan basis as members of Congress, are here for the people of Ukraine," said Congressman Tom Kean, emphasizing the importance of standing with Ukrainians in their fight for freedom and democracy. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to lead the delegation, Kean reiterated his commitment to strengthening the partnership with Ukraine as the Chairman of the Europe Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
During the visit, topics such as oversight of U.S.-provided assistance, updates from Ukrainian officials on the battlefield, advancements in anti-corruption efforts, and transparency of U.S. aid were discussed. Congressman Kean praised Ukraine's resilience in the face of Russian aggression, noting that their spirit and perseverance in defense of freedom have served as an inspiration worldwide.
