Congressman Thomas Kean Jr., who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his engagements with local organizations and businesses through a series of social media posts.

On August 21, 2025, Kean wrote about his meeting with the Picatinny Enhancement Coalition, emphasizing support for a key military installation: “I had a productive meeting this morning with the Picatinny Enhancement Coalition in my District office. Picatinny Arsenal is essential to sustaining our country’s defense capabilities. I stand firmly behind Picatinny Arsenal and the mission it serves.”

Later that same day, Kean highlighted his visit to an educational project in Somerville: “Earlier today, I visited the Somerville YMCA to see the progress of their preschool classroom renovations. Last year, I secured $3.7 million in federal Community Project Funding to support this project. These new classrooms will strengthen the YMCA’s mission and expand”.

On August 22, Kean reported on his engagement with business leaders from the hospitality sector: “I held a roundtable yesterday with the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association to hear directly from local business owners about how we can support their success. Our district is home to some of the best restaurants and hospitality businesses in the region. These”.

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has represented New Jersey’s 7th congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Tom Malinowski. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate over two decades and holds a BA from Dartmouth College.
