Thomas Kean Jr., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 7th district, has been actively addressing key issues through his recent tweets. Kean, who took office in 2023, has emphasized several initiatives he considers vital for his constituents.
On May 22, 2025, Congressman Kean tweeted about the passage of the House reconciliation bill that addresses the State and Local Tax (SALT) cap. He stated: “Since day one, addressing the SALT cap has been one of my top priorities in Congress. The passage of the House reconciliation bill delivers meaningful, lasting SALT relief to every middle-class family in NJ-07.” Kean expressed that this development marks a significant step forward for the country and is a major win.
The following day, on May 23, 2025, Kean highlighted his commitment to assisting constituents with federal agencies. He tweeted: “One of my top priorities is helping constituents navigate federal agencies. Whether you need assistance with passports, military benefits, the IRS, Social Security, or other federal matters, my office is here to help.” He also mentioned efforts to bring these services directly to constituents.
Later on May 23rd, Kean addressed Medicaid recipients’ involvement in community opportunities. He tweeted: “If a Medicaid recipient is able-bodied, they need to commit to an opportunity in our community.” According to him, this includes part-time jobs or volunteering for non-profits for at least 20 hours a week as it contributes positively to community investment.
Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston and residing in Westfield at age 54, has represented New Jersey’s 7th District since replacing Tom Malinowski in Congress. His background includes service in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate prior to his current role.
