Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to comment on issues ranging from healthcare affordability to government funding and veterans’ support.
On October 17, 2025, Kean expressed support for President Trump’s initiative to address the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF). In his post, he stated: “I support President Trump’s proposal to make IVF more affordable and accessible. A single IVF cycle can cost $15,000-$20,000, which is far beyond what many families can afford. I have heard from countless New Jersey families about the financial barriers they face when trying to https://t.co/JXRVs8OmMM”.
Later that day, Kean shared his experience attending a local event for veterans. He wrote: “It was an honor to participate in Hunterdon County’s Annual Veterans Resource Fair and spend time with the incredible men and women who have served our country. For the second consecutive year, this event brought together veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and their families https://t.co/5R1n3eg8XJ”.
On October 20, 2025, amid a federal government shutdown, Kean addressed ongoing budget negotiations in Washington. He posted: “Day 20 of the Democrat shutdown. One month ago, I joined @HouseGOP in passing a clean funding bill to keep the government open and pay federal workers. It is unacceptable and unprecedented for Senate Democrats to hold our government—and the American people—hostage over a list”.
Kean has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2023 after replacing Tom Malinowski and previously held positions in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, Kean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
