Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted community milestones and legislative priorities through a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 4, 2025, Kean commemorated a prominent local figure at a county event: “During the opening ceremonies of the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair, I formally honored the life and legacy of the late Irvin E. Hockenbury. Mr. Hockenbury was a lifelong resident of Ringoes, a pillar of the Hunterdon farming community, and mentor to generations of”.
The following day, September 5, Kean announced constituent service achievements: “ICYMI: My team and I recently returned over $50 million to constituents of New Jersey’s 7th District. This is an incredible milestone for the thousands of families, seniors, veterans, and small businesses who have trusted us to step in and help.”
Later that same day, he discussed economic policy during a business roundtable: “It was a pleasure to join @USChamber for a roundtable with local businesses. By working to restore key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and advancing critical SALT relief, we are delivering real results for New Jersey and supporting the businesses that power our local”.
Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has served as representative for New Jersey’s 7th district since 2023 after succeeding Tom Malinowski ([source](https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/K000394)). Before his tenure in Congress, Kean held positions in both chambers of New Jersey’s legislature from 2001 to 2022 ([source](https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/BIO.asp?Leg=224)). He is an alumnus of Dartmouth College.
