Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight several national observances and express appreciation for various groups in early May 2026.

On May 4, Kean marked Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month by posting: “It’s Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! During this time, we celebrate the culture, history, and achievements of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islander Americans. Later that day, Kean acknowledged National Small Business Week with a message emphasizing the role of entrepreneurs in the economy: “It’s National Small Business Week, a time to recognize the hardworking entrepreneurs and family-run establishments that are the backbone of our local economy. Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield at age 54, began serving as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 7th district in 2023 after succeeding Tom Malinowski. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of New Jersey’s state legislature between 2001 and 2022. Kean is an alumnus of Dartmouth College.
