On July 7, 2025, Congressman Kean praised the actions of Scott Ruskan, a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer. In a tweet, he described Ruskan as “a true American hero” for saving 165 lives from floodwaters in Texas. Kean expressed gratitude on behalf of himself and his constituents in NJ-07 for Ruskan’s bravery.
Later that day, Kean announced the opening of Fall 2025 internship applications. He highlighted the opportunity for hands-on experience in public policy and other areas within the legislative branch. The internships aim to provide insight into federal casework and constituent services.

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding positions in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. A Dartmouth College graduate with a BA, he continues to engage actively with his constituents through diverse initiatives.
