Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media in early October 2025 addressing issues related to foreign policy, domestic government operations, and community engagement.
On October 7, 2025, Kean marked the anniversary of an attack in Israel, writing, “We will never forget the barbaric and unprovoked terrorist attack carried out by Hamas against Israel two years ago. I cosponsored House Resolution 413 condemning this horrific attack and demanding the immediate release of all remaining hostages.”
The following day, on October 8, Kean commented on government operations at Newark Airport, stating, “Newark Airport is suffering due to the Schumer Shutdown. Air traffic controllers and TSA agents are essential to keeping travelers safe. It’s time for Senate Democrats to get on board and join Republicans in reopening our government.”
Later that day, Kean described his participation in a local religious event, posting, “Today, I joined Temple Emanu-El for their annual Community Sukkah Lunch celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, a time to come together and give thanks for the many blessings we have in our lives. Thank you Rabbi Ethan Prosnit and the congregation for welcoming me and so”
Thomas Kean Jr. has served in Congress since 2023, succeeding Tom Malinowski. Before his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Kean was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly from 2001 to 2003 and served in the New Jersey Senate from 2008 to 2022. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968, Kean is 54 years old and resides in Westfield. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
