On June 19, Congressman Kean reflected on the significance of Juneteenth in a tweet that read: “160 years ago, freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston Bay, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. This Juneteenth, let us be reminded of our nation’s founding promise: that every American is entitled to life,” marking an important historical milestone for the United States.
The following day, June 20, Kean highlighted his recent engagement with local businesses by tweeting: “ICYMI: Check out my recent visit to downtown Clinton to celebrate local small businesses!” This visit underscores his commitment to supporting and celebrating economic activity within his district.
Later on June 20, he expressed gratitude towards Somerset County for hosting a collaborative session focused on transportation issues. He tweeted: “Thank you to Somerset County for hosting a productive ‘One Seat Ride’ session last night. Thomas Kean Jr., who has been serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Tom Malinowski, has had a long political career including roles in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. Born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, Kean holds a BA from Dartmouth College.
