Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on August 8, 2025, highlighting local achievements and his legislative priorities.

In a post at 16:39 UTC, Kean celebrated a local athlete’s accomplishment: “Flemington’s own Abby Clark is headed to the American Ninja Warrior finals! She took first place among women in the semi-finals and will compete alongside other top athletes Monday night. Bring it home, Abby! “

Later that day at 18:32 UTC, Kean addressed economic concerns facing small businesses: “Small businesses are essential to our local economy, yet too often they have been stifled by onerous tax burdens, excessive red tape, and anti-growth policies. This week, I spoke at the Somerset County Business Partnership about my ongoing work to advance pro-growth policies,” he wrote.

At 20:14 UTC, Kean discussed tax policy with another lawmaker during a visit to a local restaurant: “It was a privilege to welcome @RepLisaMcClain to the Garden State! At Alpha Family Restaurant, we discussed how No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, SALT relief, & other tax cuts are helping New Jerseyans keep more of their hard earned money. Read more “

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has represented New Jersey’s 7th District since replacing Tom Malinowski in 2023.
