Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted his legislative efforts and recognition for work on behalf of seniors and healthcare affordability through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On December 4, 2025, Kean announced the introduction of new bipartisan legislation, stating, “Today I introduced the bipartisan HELP Copays Act alongside @RepBarragan, @RepMMM, @RepAuchincloss, @RepBrianFitz, and @RepBonnie. For too long, health insurers and PBMs have been pocketing copay assistance without lowering patients’ cost-sharing obligations. Our bill fixes”.
The following day, on December 5, Kean shared news about an award he received for his advocacy on senior issues: “It was an honor to receive the American PATRIOT Award from @AMACforAmerica in recognition for my work on behalf of seniors. By passing the Working Families Tax Cuts, we delivered a $6,000 deduction for New Jersey seniors. In our state alone, nearly 1.6 million seniors stand”.
Later that same day, Kean posted about bipartisan healthcare reforms aimed at affordability: “I joined both Democrats and Republicans to advance a new framework to make healthcare more affordable for New Jersey families. Our ‘CommonGround 2025’ plan responsibly extends the enhanced Premium Tax Credits while pairing them with targeted modifications, including PBM reform,”.
Thomas Kean Jr., age 54 and a native of Livingston now residing in Westfield, began representing New Jersey’s 7th congressional district in 2023 after previously serving in both chambers of the New Jersey legislature—from the General Assembly between 2001 and 2003 and then as a state senator from 2008 to 2022. He is an alumnus of Dartmouth College.
