Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on May 11 and 12, 2026, highlighting local achievements and legislative priorities.

On May 11, Kean congratulated a local official for their service at the Social Security Administration. He wrote, “Congratulations to fellow #NJ07 resident Commissioner Bisignano on one year leading @SocialSecurity! Social Security is a vital lifeline for Americans, and it is important that we continue to protect and strengthen the program.”

Later that day, he recognized student artists from his district. In his tweet dated May 11, Kean stated, “Congratulations to our #NJ07 winners of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! First place goes to Kaylie Gao from The Pingry School for her acrylic painting, Allegiance. The runners-up are Vivien Xu from Westfield High School for her painting, Our Worker, and Mia Li from”.

On May 12 during National Police Week, Kean addressed retail crime issues. He tweeted: “Grateful to be recognized as a Congressional Retail Crime Fighter by @NRFnews during National Police Week. Organized retail crime continues to threaten consumers, workers, and businesses. As a cosponsor of the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, I am proud to back legislation”.

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield at age 54, has represented New Jersey’s 7th District since replacing Tom Malinowski in Congress in 2023. Prior to his congressional tenure, he served in both the New Jersey General Assembly (2001-2003) and State Senate (2008-2022). Kean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
