Congressman Tom Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 26, 2025, highlighting local achievements and commemorating national events.

In his first post of the day, Kean recognized a young student participating in a STEM program: “At 11 years of age, Sana Donaldson is already taking her curiosity to new heights! As part of NJIT’s FEMME aeronautical engineering program, Sana has built rockets, kites, and parachutes. She’s an inspiring young leader showing what is possible in STEM!” (August 26, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Kean marked the anniversary of a significant event involving U.S. military personnel: “Today marks four years since 13 U.S. service members lost their lives in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack outside Kabul Airport. We honor those brave men and women for their courage and the ultimate sacrifice they made in service to our nation. Their memory will never be” (August 26, 2025).

In another brief post later that evening, Kean commented simply: “Nice!” (August 26, 2025).

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield at age 54, began serving as representative for New Jersey’s 7th district after succeeding Tom Malinowski in 2023. Before his current role in Congress, he served from 2001 to 2003 in the New Jersey General Assembly and from 2008 to 2022 in the New Jersey Senate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
