Congressman Tom Kean Jr., who has represented New Jersey’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently used social media to update constituents on his activities and legislative priorities. The posts highlight his engagement with the community, his stance on tax policy, and his efforts to keep residents informed about congressional developments.
On July 10, 2025, Congressman Kean shared details of a recent event: “Last week, I hosted a live telephone town hall with thousands of constituents to share about my work in Congress and answer questions on a wide range of issues. ICYMI, listen to the full playback—don’t forget to share with your friends & neighbors!” This message invited followers to access a recording of the town hall and encouraged them to share it within their communities.
Later that day, Kean addressed his position on the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction: “When it came to SALT relief, I didn’t back down. Not from Democrats. Not from Republicans. I stood up for New Jersey and fully restored the SALT Deduction for every middle-class family in New Jersey.” The post emphasized his advocacy for restoring this tax benefit for middle-class families in his state.
On July 11, 2025, Kean encouraged constituents to stay updated through digital channels: “Are you following all my social media channels? That’s where you will find the latest updates on my work in Congress, important legislation, and what’s happening across #NJ07. Don’t miss out by subscribing to my weekly newsletter for highlights delivered straight to your”. He highlighted the importance of social media and newsletters as tools for communication between his office and residents.
Thomas Kean Jr., age 54, was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1968 and currently resides in Westfield. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA degree.
