On May 16, 2025, Congressman Kean addressed the importance of NJ Transit for residents in Union and Somerset Counties. He emphasized the need for a fair resolution to ongoing negotiations involving transit workers. In his post, he stated: “NJ Transit is a vital mode of transportation, particularly for us in Union and Somerset Counties. I hope a fair deal for transit workers is reached immediately. This system needs to operate for our residents, and the engineers need to be treated with decency and respect.”
Later that day, at approximately 4:35 PM UTC, Congressman Kean informed constituents about an issue affecting his Lebanon Borough District Office. He noted that the office was experiencing a power outage but provided alternative contact information for immediate assistance: “FYI: My Lebanon Borough District Office is currently without power. For immediate assistance, please contact my Washington, DC office at (202) 225-5361.”
Subsequently, by 5:51 PM UTC on the same day, Congressman Kean updated followers that power had been restored at the Lebanon Borough District Office. He assured constituents that normal operations had resumed while promising further updates if necessary: “Update: Power has been restored at my Lebanon Borough District Office, and normal operations have resumed. Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and residing in Westfield, holds a BA from Dartmouth College. He succeeded Tom Malinowski as U.S Congress member in 2023 after serving in various state legislative roles since 2001.
