The following day, June 9, 2025, he addressed Senator Scott directly via Twitter. In his tweet, Kean asserted that “New Jersey has been subsidizing Florida for a long time,” while affirming that the path laid out by the House bill benefits both states.

Later that day, Congressman Kean tweeted about measures within the House Reconciliation bill aimed at protecting Medicaid. He stated that they have taken steps to prevent “illegal aliens from stealing Medicaid” while safeguarding resources for children, seniors, and other vulnerable populations. The tweet further emphasized efforts to protect Medicaid from “waste, fraud, and abuse” as detailed in his post.

Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, holds a BA from Dartmouth College. Since replacing Tom Malinowski in Congress in 2023, he continues to advocate for policies benefiting New Jerseyans.
