Congressman Tom Kean, representing New Jersey’s 7th district since 2023, shared updates and reflections through a series of tweets. As a U.S. Congressman, Kean frequently highlights infrastructure projects, workforce development initiatives, and community service recognition.
On June 3, 2025, Kean announced the reopening of Runway 4L-22R two weeks ahead of schedule. He attributed this achievement to “around-the-clock work” from various teams at different levels: “It took around-the-clock work to get Runway 4L-22R reopened two weeks early.” The effort involved collaboration among federal and state agencies as well as on-the-ground crews including engineers and electricians here.
The following day, June 4, Kean welcomed Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer to New Jersey for a tour of the Northeast Carpenters Training Center. Highlighting the importance of workforce development programs, he stated: “Yesterday, I had the pleasure of welcoming my former colleague and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer to New Jersey for a tour of the Northeast Carpenters Training Center” here.
Later that same day, Congressman Kean recognized Sergeant Kevin Stomber as the “#NJ07 Law Enforcement Hometown Hero.” Praising Stomber’s over 25 years of service with integrity and professionalism across communities in New Jersey, Kean remarked: “This week’s #NJ07 Law Enforcement Hometown Hero is Sergeant Kevin Stomber of the Fanwood Police Department” here.
Thomas Kean Jr., born in Livingston in 1968 and currently residing in Westfield, has a long-standing history in public service. He served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate before joining Congress after replacing Tom Malinowski in 2023.
