(July 30, 2024) WARREN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) toured the Warren Township Police Department today ahead of the FY25 appropriations discussion to understand local law enforcement needs and priorities. Congressman Kean has requested $900,000 for Warren Township in this year’s FY25 appropriation process. The funding is intended for communication technology upgrades for emergency operations at the police department to meet the growing needs of the community.

“The equipment upgrade is a valuable lifeline to all emergency services for the township,” said Congressman Kean. “This funding would ensure that our first responders have the tools they need to effectively manage crises and protect the community. I will continue to fight for New Jerseyans in Congress to get these appropriations requests across the finish line.”

"On behalf of the Township of Warren and the entire Township Committee, I would like to thank Congressman Kean for working so hard on behalf of the district,” said Victor Sordillo, Mayor of Warren Township. “The generous funding for our communication system upgrades will ensure the continued security of our town. As we have learned over the past, communication is the key element of successful management and control in an emergency situation."

“The Warren Police Department is thrilled to host Congressman Tom Kean Jr. as part of the Community Project Funding Initiative,” said Robert Ferreiro, Chief of Police for the Warren Township Police Department. “We are grateful to Rep. Kean and the members of the Appropriations Committee for their dedication to public safety and for considering our proposal to upgrade communications equipment for Warren PD. These funds will enable us to replace outdated equipment both internally and for each individual officer. Effective communication equipment is quite literally the lifeline of any public safety operation. The ability to quickly and accurately transmit information can be the difference between life and death in emergencies. This equipment ensures that our officers can respond to incidents swiftly and efficiently. These upgrades are essential for guaranteeing top-tier service to our growing community and enhancing officer safety through modern technology.”
