Today, Congressman Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07) addressed the House of Representatives to honor Suzan "Suzie" Marie Hanna, a Bridgewater resident who died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is an invisible and odorless gas that poses significant dangers.

Suzie had just turned 30 before Hurricane Ida hit. She was driving home from Flemington to Bradley Gardens in Bridgewater when the storm struck. On September 2, 2021, she perished in Raritan Township due to floodwaters caused by the hurricane.

In memory of Suzie, Congressman Kean has introduced a resolution declaring November 20th, 2024 as Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Awareness Day. The resolution seeks to increase awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide exposure and prevent similar tragedies.
