Congressman Tom Kean Jr. has expressed his approval following President Trump's decision to withdraw New York City's congestion pricing program. The Department of Transportation announced earlier today that it has terminated its approval for the pilot program, which began on January 5, 2025.
Kean stated, "Thank you, President Trump, for listening to New Jersey’s concerns and ending Congestion Pricing. From the very beginning, I have opposed this deeply flawed program that unfairly targeted New Jerseyans and all those who commute into Manhattan. This was nothing more than a money grab on New Jersey taxpayers."
He further emphasized his efforts in discussing the issue with President Trump and colleagues from both political parties. Kean described the withdrawal as "a huge victory" and reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for New Jersey.
