New Jersey Makers Day will be hosted state-wide March 24 through March 26. However, we are so excited about the opportunity to “make,” the Library System has decided to celebrate all March long.

“SCLSNJ branches are so excited to bring New Jersey Makers Day to our communities this March,” said Allie Ziff, manager of youth services programming and collaborations. “New Jersey Makers Day is designed to be a statewide event that celebrates, promotes, and introduces maker culture, as well as the values associated with making, tinkering, and STEAM-based learning.”

New Jersey Makers Day was founded in 2014 with a goal to “enhance community engagement and develop connections among New Jersey residents by collaborating with multi-type libraries, museums, small businesses and others to promote and explore new opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovation and hands-on learning experiences.” Since then, the event has continued to grow and expand.

Continued Ziff, “We encourage children, teens, families, and adults from all across Somerset County to come to our libraries this March for various events.”
