Bernardsville, NJ - On Thursday, July 6th, Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) hosted an Eagle Scout Awardee Gathering his Bernardsville District Office. Scoutmasters and parents of 2023 Eagle Scouts throughout the district were invited to attend with their Eagle Scout.
An Eagle Scout title is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America organization. To become an Eagle Scout, one must earn a total of 21 merit badges and demonstrate Scout spirit, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that scouts plan, organize, lead, and manage.
“I am amazed by the talent, dedication and passion from each individual scout,” said Congressman Kean. “I know each scout has spent countless hours on their project. I admire their passion to serve their community and encourage them to continue to do so after accomplishing this incredible milestone. Congratulations to all the young men that have successfully earned their rank as an Eagle Scout.”
The event honored 15 Eagle Scouts who represented all six counties in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. More than 50 people who attended this event, including parents, grandparents, siblings, and scoutmasters.
"I was honored and inspired to meet the Congressman and the other Scouts,” said Vibhav Chaturvedi, 2023 Eagle Scout Awardee. “It's a rare opportunity to get so many outstanding peers in one place and I am inspired to do more for my community as a Scout and beyond.”
"It was an honor to meet Congressman Kean and to have a conversation with all the other eagle scouts and him,” said Christian Lechner, 2023 Eagle Scout Awardee. “What he said about how we are the future on our country was inspirational and motivational to me. It was very nice that the Congressman and his staff held this event for the eagle scouts and their families including inviting scout masters.”
Congressman Kean plans to host more Eagle Scout gatherings for his district and beyond.
