In a post dated April 10, 2025, Kean commended Nokia Bell Labs on its centennial achievement, recognizing a century of "groundbreaking innovation."
On April 11, 2025, Kean announced via Twitter that his proposed Undersea Cable Control Act successfully passed the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He emphasized that the legislation aims to restrict China and other foreign entities from obtaining a strategic advantage in the undersea cable sector by limiting their access to pivotal U.S. technologies. The goal of the Act is to address national security concerns.
Later the same day, Kean spoke at the Ukraine Action Summit, reiterating his continued support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict. Kean stated that standing with Ukraine is not solely about territorial integrity but also about upholding "core values that uphold the free world," such as sovereignty and democracy.
Thomas Kean Jr., who assumed office in 2023 as the U.S. representative for New Jersey’s 7th District, had previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate. He has a background in political service and holds a degree from Dartmouth College.
