(June 14, 2024) WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) issued a statement following his affirmative vote on the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act.

“I commend the passage of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act. Today’s NDAA will support our servicemember’s quality of life while continuing to bolster our nation’s military. This bipartisan legislation continues to reinvigorate our nation’s defense industrial base, support our allies and partners abroad, and most of all, the American warfighter," stated Congressman Kean.

He highlighted several key provisions in the legislation: "The legislation contains increases to the basic allowance for housing, a 19.5% pay raise for junior enlisted personnel, improvements to military housing, and support initiatives for military families."

Congressman Kean also emphasized the impact on New Jersey: "For the state of New Jersey, the bill continues to support the critical research and development work at Picatinny Arsenal and aims to better foster workforce development in the defense space. It also supports the Submarine Industrial Base, which many New Jersey companies are a part of, supporting both the Virginia and Columbia Class Programs.”
