On June 18, 2024, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) sent a letter to Dr. Shareef Elnahal, Under Secretary for Health from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, advocating for the establishment of a VA Vet Center in Hunterdon County.

Congressman Kean recently co-hosted a Veterans Resource Fair in Flemington, Hunterdon County, with county commissioners and the assistance of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“Veterans have sacrificed so much for our nation, and they deserve all the care, respect, and resources we can offer,” said Congressman Kean. "Despite the State of New Jersey’s relative size, many veterans must drive long distances to access care or rely on public transportation. The proposed Outstation in Hackettstown, Warren County, poses a challenge to veterans in Hunterdon County who would have to travel upwards of over an hour and a half to obtain care. I will continue to work with the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve the lives of veterans in the 7th Congressional District and ensure they have appropriate access to VA services.”
