The following day on February 18, 2025, Congressman Kean addressed a transit issue affecting his constituents. He reported that numerous transit riders from Westfield to Somerville were stranded due to a derailment in Union County which led to the suspension of RVL service. He advocated for all affected NJ Transit riders to receive a full refund. "Scores of transit riders from Westfield to Somerville and beyond are stranded this morning due to a derailment in Union County. RVL service has been suspended. All affected NJ Transit riders deserve a full refund."

Later that day, he shared his involvement in securing federal funds for community projects during the Annual Meeting of the Greater Somerset County YMCA in Bridgewater. Congressman Kean highlighted nearly $3.8 million in federal funds allocated through Community Project Funding aimed at expanding access to early childhood education at the Somerville YMCA.
