Congressman Tom Kean discusses local initiatives and transit issues on social media

Congressman Tom Kean, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 7th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues and events. His recent tweets cover topics from community assistance initiatives to transit disruptions and funding for educational projects.

On February 17, 2025, Congressman Kean announced a collaborative event with Assemblywoman Dunn’s office, inviting the public to join them at a Joint Mobile Office Hours session in Mine Hill. He encouraged constituents to meet with Team Kean staff for assistance with federal casework such as passport renewals, VA services, Social Security, IRS issues, and more. The following day on February 18, 2025, Congressman Kean addressed a transit issue affecting his constituents. He reported that numerous transit riders from Westfield to Somerville were stranded due to a derailment in Union County which led to the suspension of RVL service. He advocated for all affected NJ Transit riders to receive a full refund. "Scores of transit riders from Westfield to Somerville and beyond are stranded this morning due to a derailment in Union County. RVL service has been suspended. All affected NJ Transit riders deserve a full refund."

Later that day, he shared his involvement in securing federal funds for community projects during the Annual Meeting of the Greater Somerset County YMCA in Bridgewater. Congressman Kean highlighted nearly $3.8 million in federal funds allocated through Community Project Funding aimed at expanding access to early childhood education at the Somerville YMCA. "Team Kean attended the @gscymca's Annual Meeting in Bridgewater. Through Community Project Funding, I am proud to have brought nearly $3.8 million in federal funds to the Somerville YMCA to expand access to early childhood education."
