Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. of New Jersey's 7th District paid tribute to local Vietnam veterans by awarding them the Vietnam War Commemoration Lapel Pin. In a ceremony held in Bridgewater, Congressman Kean expressed his gratitude towards the veterans, stating, "It is an extraordinary privilege to present local veterans with a lapel pin, as a symbol of our nation’s gratitude towards their sacrifice and service."

Vice Commander Randy Levine of the Bridgewater American Legion Post 0327, where the event took place, expressed his excitement, saying, "We enjoyed meeting the men and women who served during the Vietnam War era and welcoming them to our post."

The Vietnam War Commemoration Program, established in 2008, aims to honor the heroic service and selfless contributions of Vietnam War veterans. Deacon Keith Gibbons, Bridgewater Mayor Matt Moench, and representatives from area Veterans Command Posts were also present at the ceremony to show their support.

Fifty-five Vietnam veterans were honored at the event, including Joseph Alvino, William Bacho, Ronald Barber, and many others who served in various capacities during the Vietnam War period. The ceremony recognized their dedication to upholding the values of freedom and their sacrifices for the country.

As Congressman Kean reiterated, "Congratulations to all the veterans honored today, thank you, and welcome home." The event served as a meaningful opportunity to express appreciation for the service and commitment of these brave individuals.
